Michael Pollack
Of Counsel
Michael A. Pollack is a highly experienced mediator, arbitrator, and attorney who has spent nearly five decades resolving complex civil disputes through litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Widely regarded as a trusted neutral in sophisticated matters, he was certified as a circuit civil mediator by the Florida Supreme Court in 2009. Michael has also served as a public arbitrator for FINRA, the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin, and New Era ADR.
As of counsel at La Fleur Law, Michael focuses his practice on mediation, arbitration, and strategic dispute resolution. He also continues to represent individuals and small businesses in select civil matters, including those involving personal injury, commercial disputes, consumer issues, employment, real estate, and insurance-related matters.
Michael guides individuals, businesses, and attorneys through high-stakes disputes, mediating and arbitrating a broad range of matters, including contract, business and partnership, real estate and construction, employment, consumer, insurance, and class action cases. His effectiveness as a mediator is grounded in a deep understanding of the litigation process, including the costs, risks, and uncertainties associated with trial and appeal. He works with parties to identify core issues, assess strengths and vulnerabilities, and develop practical, results-oriented paths to resolution.
Michael brings extensive experience in legal research, writing, editing, and quality control to his practice. His perspective on dispute resolution is reflected in a blog, “Twice is Nice: Why You Shouldn’t Fear Mediation,” featured on the State Bar of Wisconsin’s website. He has also had several articles published in Wisconsin Lawyer, the journal of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
In addition to his mediation practice, Michael has spent many years representing individuals and small businesses across a wide spectrum of civil matters. He has also written and edited online legal summaries for LexisNexis.
Michael earned his J.D. from Tulane University Law School and his B.A. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In the community, Michael is an active member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and has long been involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Jewish Community Relations Council.
