Catherine La Fleur

Owner, Attorney and NBTA Certified Civil Trial Specialist

Ms. La Fleur specializes in civil litigation, family law and mediation. She is a Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the NBTA. She is an adjunct professor of law at Marquette since 2001. She is a member of NAMWOLF and WBENC. She was the Wisconsin Bar’s Chair of the Litigation Board, served two terms on the Bar’s Board of Governors, and was an elected member of Wisconsin Judicial Council for six years.

In 2014, Ms. La Fleur participated in the Joint Legislative Council’s Study Committee on the Transfer of Structured Settlements. She spent six years on the Special Preliminary Review Committee of the Office of Lawyer Regulation. In 2016, she was appointed by Justice Roggensack to a committee formed to study the Office of Lawyer Regulation.

Jane Carrig

Litigator

Ms. Carrig practices civil litigation and family law. Jane graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelors of Science in Economics and earned her J.D from Notre Dame Law School in South Bend, IN in 1994. At Notre Dame Law School, she was selected and competed as a member of the National Moot Court Team.

Jane was born and raised in Hartland and maintains strong roots in the community. She has served in numerous volunteer capacities at her home parish of St. Mary’s Visitation, including service on the Parish Pastoral Council and School Board Committee Chair. Jane became a member of the Wisconsin State Bar in 1994.

Jane Carrig

Ms. Carrig practices civil litigation and family law. Abigail Volberding

Litigator

Abby was born and raised in Wisconsin and has deep ties to Milwaukee and the surrounding communities. Abby practices almost exclusively family law since graduating from Vermont Law school and passing the Wisconsin Bar Examination in 2011. She has extensive experience in the traditional and collaborative divorce processes. Abby has significant training as a collaborative attorney and as family law mediator.

Abby joined La Fleur Law in November of 2019 after practicing in Racine and Kenosha for several years. Abby has litigation experience throughout Southeastern Wisconsin including Racine, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, and Ozaukee Counties. Abby also has experience acting as a Guardian ad Litem.

Bradley Novreske

Litigator

Brad was born and raised in Iowa but has made Wisconsin his home since 2015. He started his academic career at Iowa State University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Studies, and a bachelor’s degree in Russian Studies. He obtained his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a Master’s degree in Russian and Eastern European Studies in 2016.

Brad joined La Fleur Law in February 2021 after spending several years as a prosecutor in western Wisconsin and rural South Dakota, where he concentrated primarily on domestic violence, sexual assault, and crimes against children. He applies a restorative justice approach, emphasizing rehabilitation and harm-minimization within the criminal justice system.

Brad was born and raised in Iowa but has made Wisconsin his home since 2015. Griffin Gross

Attorney

Griffin Gross was born and raised in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and is a longtime resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He started his academic career at Marquette University High School, went to Marquette University for a business degree with an accounting major, and obtained his law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Attorney Gross joined La Fleur Law in August of 2018 as a law clerk and was hired as an attorney in May of 2020. He is a Board Member and the Board Development Chair at GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee, which supports and celebrates families and their children with Down syndrome. 

Ellen Kosmatka

Ellen Kosmatka is a life-long resident of Wisconsin. She joined La Fleur Law as a law clerk in June 2019, and as an associate in July 2021.

Ellen earned her J.D. from Marquette University in May 2021, where she graduated Cum Laude. She spent her final semester serving as a judicial intern for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, in Chief Justice Patience D. Roggensack’s chambers.

Ellen Kosmatka

Renee Gilbertson

Firm Administrator

Renee Gilbertson is the Firm Administrator, responsible for managing the office, billing, marketing, and supplier diversity initiatives. After spending over 30 years in sales, print and radio, both commercial and public, Ms. Gilbertson’s experience enables her to handle the timely communication and comprehension of clients’ needs.

Charlotte Lewis

Paralegal

Charlotte has been working in the legal field for 10 years.  Charlotte’s experience spans a variety of practice areas including personal injury, product liability, asbestos litigation and family law.  She has also served as a patient account representative liaising with medical insurance providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of claims.

Nina M. Bartoshevich

Nina has more than 17 years working as a paralegal in both plaintiff and defense practices.  Nina’s attention to detail, superior time management skills, and ability to
provide all levels of support to her clients sets her apart in her field.

Angela Theriault

Director, Supplier Diversity and Marketing

Angela has a passion for problem solving and creative communications. She brings more than 20 years’ experience developing marketing strategies that are relevant, ownable, sustainable, and drive growth. She’s responsible for managing the firm’s supplier diversity presence, promotion, content marketing and social networking platforms.
