Catherine La Fleur

Owner, Attorney and NBTA Certified Civil Trial Specialist

Ms. La Fleur specializes in civil litigation, family law, alternative dispute resolution and appellate law.  She is a Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the NBTA. She was an adjunct professor of law at Marquette for twenty years, teaching litigation-related courses. She is a member of NAMWOLF and WBENC. She was the Wisconsin Bar’s Chair of the Litigation Board, served two terms on the Bar’s Board of Governors, and was an elected member of Wisconsin Judicial Council for six years.

In 2014, Ms. La Fleur participated in the Joint Legislative Council’s Study Committee on the Transfer of Structured Settlements. She spent six years on the Special Preliminary Review Committee of the Office of Lawyer Regulation. In 2016, she was appointed by Justice Roggensack to a committee formed to study the Office of Lawyer Regulation.

Susan Scott joined La Fleur Law in October 2023 and is an experienced Attorney with a demonstrated history of working in the legal services industry. Susan is skilled in all areas involving Family Law: Custody, Placement, Paternity, High-Conflict Divorce, Mediation, Guardian Ad Litem by Court Appointment, Legal Research and Writing, Trials, and Guardianships.

Daniel Sawall graduated from Marquette University in 2019 and Marquette University Law School in 2023. He joined La Fleur Law in 2024 to assist in litigation and expand the employment law practice.

Cooper Warner graduated in the top 25% of her class from Marquette University Law School in 2021. Her practice includes probate, estate planning, guardianship, and Guardian ad Litem Court appointment work. She is passionate about elder law and providing legal representation to underserved populations.

Sean La Fleur is a social worker who is bringing his skills of compassion and analysis to his paralegal work at the firm. Sean has a bachelor’s of social work from UWM, graduating in 2016, and has worked in multiple roles for Milwaukee County social service agencies. Sean is joining the firm while taking a break from pursuing his master’s degree in social work at UWM, and is looking forward to new experiences in a new field.

Chelsea has grown up in the family law field and has been working as a legal assistant for the past three years. Prior to that she was living in France for ten years and worked in management positions, recruiting, and other like roles. She is bilingual in French and English and has a passion for helping people.
