Attorney Catherine La Fleur

Catherine La Fleur

Owner, Attorney and NBTA Certified Civil Trial Specialist

Ms. La Fleur specializes in civil litigation, family law, alternative dispute resolution and appellate law.  She is a Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the NBTA. She was an adjunct professor of law at Marquette for twenty years, teaching litigation-related courses. She is a member of NAMWOLF and WBENC. She was the Wisconsin Bar’s Chair of the Litigation Board, served two terms on the Bar’s Board of Governors, and was an elected member of Wisconsin Judicial Council for six years.

In 2014, Ms. La Fleur participated in the Joint Legislative Council’s Study Committee on the Transfer of Structured Settlements. She spent six years on the Special Preliminary Review Committee of the Office of Lawyer Regulation. In 2016, she was appointed by Justice Roggensack to a committee formed to study the Office of Lawyer Regulation.

Jane Carrig

Ms. Carrig practices civil litigation and family law. Jane graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and earned her law degree from University of Notre Dame Law School in South Bend, IN. At Notre Dame Law School, she competed as a member of the National Moot Court Team.

Jane is an experienced civil litigator. She focuses her practice in the areas of real estate, personal injury, construction, and general commercial litigation. She has successfully represented both businesses and individuals in a variety of matters ranging from landlord/tenant disputes in small claims court to complex litigation involving multiple plaintiffs and defendants in the federal district courts. Ms. Carrig also has extensive experience litigating family law issues, including divorce, custody and placement of minor children and post-judgment modification and contempt.

Ms. Carrig practices civil litigation and family law. Jane graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and earned her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in South Bend, IN. At Notre Dame Law School, she was selected and competed as a member of the National Moot Court Team.

Jane is an experienced civil litigator, handles a wide variety of family law matters, and has worked as a Guardian ad Litem in Waukesha County. She has successfully represented both businesses and individuals in a variety of matters ranging from landlord/tenant and car accident disputes in small claims court to complex civil litigation involving multiple plaintiffs and defendants in the federal district courts. Ms. Carrig also has extensive experience litigating family law issues, including divorce, custody and placement of minor children and post-judgment modification and contempt.

Nick Wanic

Nick Wanic

Attorney

Nick Wanic was born in Illinois but considers Milwaukee to be his adoptive home. He joined La Fleur Law in November 2021 as an associate.

Previously Nick has worked with the Milwaukee City Attorney as an intern and later as an Assistant City Attorney. As part of its Ordinance Enforcement Division, he prosecuted hundreds of cases and handled numerous trials.

Emily Horejsch

Emily has been working in the legal field for three years serving as a legal operations specialist and legal assistant in Collection Law.  She graduated from University of Wisconsin Parkside with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Psychology and Sociology.  Emily assists attorneys in the firm with all aspects of civil litigation including preparation of documents, legal research, assisting with filings, trial preparation and maintaining case files.
